They say that Milford Sound experiences only a handful of fine days each year and that you are indeed lucky to be cruising its waters on such a day. Well, good fortune is looking upon us today. The sky is clear. The seals on the rocks are attracting our attention with their playful antics. The surrounding peaks (especially Mitre Peak) are daunting and many cascades are feverishly dropping into the blue waters of this magnificent fiord.
There is just one thing I forgot to mention before we got on the boat - don't forget your insect repellent, just in case there are sand flies. Ouch!
(But do take a chance. A cruise on Milford Sound is worth it even on drizzly days.)
