One of the attractions
to visit in Como is found on the shore of the lake and it is the Volta
Museum. Alessandro Volta, whose work the museum is in honour of,
developed the predecessor of the electric battery. If you are interested
in the lead up to the invention of electricity (and what could we do without
it?) this is certainly the place to go as it is a very thorough museum
even if it is only small. There are many other features of interest
in Como including the medieval walls that outline the town's historical centre.
